The Auction Room
Level 2 Awards in Understanding Customer Service in the Retail Sector and Understanding the Retail Selling Process

Neil Hyndman, owner of The Auction Room coffee shop in Maghera, arranged for his staff to undertake customer service and retail training with Northern Regional College.

The team took our Level 2 Award in Understanding Customer Service in the Retail Sector and Understanding the Retail Process.

Delivered through the Skills Focus programme, the training went a long way in boosting staff confidence and giving them new techniques to put into practice when dealing with the public.

Neil said: "The training really enhanced the confidence among our young – and relatively inexperienced – staff.  As well as learning a range of new techniques, it reinforced all the good things they’re already doing in their jobs. Often, this is as important as learning new skills and it certainly was to our team.

“We noticed an immediate improvement in their ability to engage with customers, as well as each other, and our feedback from customers - both in house and on social media - has continued to be of an absolutely wonderful standard.

“They are more able to actively engage with customers to encourage cross/up-selling and improve the experience of both the customer and their role within the organisation."
